Saving Money is EASY!

It is very possible that we all overpay for many of the things we have: cell phones, cable bills, electric bills, grocery bills, etc.  If you took some time each month to closely examine each of those bills, and then you did some research to see if you could reduce the amounts for any of those bills, then you could save a significant amount of money each month. Here are some tips on how to reduce those bills:

1.  Cell Phones - You may have a cell phone plan with way too many minutes, which means you could switch to a plan with fewer minutes, which is a lot cheaper.  Or, some cell phone companies allow you to talk to other people who use the same cell phone provider for free – that can save you a ton of minutes, which could allow you to switch over to another plan that’s cheaper.  It’s worth a try to not only review your cell phone bill, but see if you can switch your plan to a cheaper one.

2.  Cable Bill – There’s no doubt it’s cheaper when you combine your Internet, cable television and phone bill into one bill from the same provider.  See if you can do that to save money or simply contact your cable provider and ask them to reduce the price of your cable television, internet and/or phone, especially if you’ve been a reliable and loyal customer to that company.

3.  Electric Bill – Some electric companies will offer you a discount if you use your main appliances (washer, dryer, dishwasher) during “off-hours” or non-peak hours when usage of those appliances are relatively low.  These times are usually very late at night or right in the middle of the day in most cases.  Try to use your appliances during off-times if you can, and then contact your electric company to see if you can receive a discount for that.  Some electric companies might also five you a discount if your appliances are energy efficient.

4.  Groceries – HelpSaveMyDollars.com has been frequently writing about the importance of using coupons.  Sometimes the receipt at the grocery store will have coupons printed on the back – be sure to use those instead of simply throwing them away in the garbage.  Using coupons, whether from the Internet or the newspaper, can save you a great deal of money each month!

These are just a few tips on how you can lower your bills each month.  It’s pretty simple and all you have to do is just be creative!
