Thank you for those tips, they are great. $50 charged on credit monthly is I think not realistic. To maximize the use of your credit card, I suggest charging to it your recurring monthly payments such as electric bills, phone bills and insurance premiums.

Just to give your readers an overview, this is how credit score is solved (according to Fair Isaac)

35% - history on payments

30% - kind
and amount of debt

15% -
length of your credit history

10% -
based on new credits

10% - various types of credits.
And just as what you said- higher credit score means lower auto insurance rate, lower loan rates and mortgage rates. It
definitely pays off to do what's right.

Best regards,
Belinda

Yes, a high credit score can be a huge savings! High credit score means low mortgage interests, low insurance rates and other financial rates. A post from thefrugaltoad.com presented a very detailed calculations on saving $50,000 in a 30-year fixed mortgage if one has high credit score. That's a huge amount!

It pays to be diligent and on time on paying dues.

Warmly,
Belinda

Where am I now? Input all of your current monthly expenses. If something doesn't fit in the below categories, add it into the "miscellaneous" total. This is a good snapshot of your outgoing cash-flow.

Good points Scott, those fees make Layaway a bad option for many. Especially for those who with existing credit card debt.
