As we wrap up 2012 with fiscal cliff drama, we can’t forget to focus on our own personal goals as we welcome 2013. That’s right, I’m talking about New Year’s resolutions, which we tend to set around this time every year. The question is, how can we make sure we stick to and accomplish these goals?
Whether they be financially related, like geting out of debt, or health related, such as losing weight, your smartphone will once again come in handy. That’s why I wanted to share four apps to help make your New Year’s resolutions a reality.
This free app will give you a financial reason to go to the gym. If you go to the gym, the app pays you. If you don’t you, well, you’ve got to pay the app. We’re only talking about a $5 commitment, but if the app gets you away from your computer and on the treadmill, you’re winning, right?
In keeping with our healthy apps theme, the free Fitbit app, among other features, lets you set a daily target caloric intake and track some of the most important aspects of your health including what you eat, how many times you workout, hours of sleep and of course, weight.
3. Debt Payoff Pro
Switching back to personal finance, if you’re in debt, especially after all that holiday shopping, it’s time start paying it off – and that’s where this app comes in handy. The app lets you create graphs, charts and amortization tables – so you can visually see when you’ll become debt-free – and it’s only 99 cents.
You’ve probably heard of this free app – but if you resolve to stay organized in 2013, this is the app for you, as it lets you store notes, make to-do lists and store certain reminders (like paying the credit card bill on time).
